About Wagman Ceramics

Evan Wagman, a ceramic artist and educator from New Jersey, established himself in the vibrant arts community in Edwardsville, IL. Wagman studio offers classes and party options for students of all ages, providing them the opportunity to explore their creative potential. Evan’s journey as a ceramic artist has taken him around the world, allowing him to immerse himself in diverse cultures and artistic traditions. Wagman holds an undergraduate degree from Rider University in Sociology and Psychology, a master's in fine arts with a focus in ceramics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, with a continued desire to further his investigations connecting familial gatherings through altered and refined functional pottery, while simultaneously developing an abstracted sculptural body of work. Which creates a narrative of unseen emotions resulting from exposure to internal and external influences and pressures. The work becomes a personal ideation and cataloging of emotion. In recent years, Wagman has joined the staff at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in St. Louis as a Fine Arts instructor. Where he simultaneously completed his Master of Education from Saint Louis University. He enjoys the opportunity given to him to guide young artists of tomorrow in discovering and articulating their conceptual thinking through various mediums.
